CHRIS DAWSON Born on 21 October 1955 in Bognor Regis, UK.

My further education included Building Technology at Chichester College and Product Design at West Sussex College of Art and Design, Worthing.

From 1978, I worked as a product designer in a major London based design consultancy and in 1986 formed a successful partnership - Chris Dawson Associates - to provide design services to national and international companies.

I have always had an interest in fine art and from 1996, as an alternative to the rigid confines of commercial design work, I started to produce paintings of my own. Working in acrylic’s, my artwork work initially concentrated on steam engines and railways, attempting to capture the atmosphere and memories of that industrial age.

More recently I have been studying nature; concentrating on small pockets of natural beauty by magnifying the textures, colours and patterns of the smaller but no less important details that make up our world.

I currently live and work in Hassocks, West Sussex with my wife Alison and 2 children.
